The Fellowship Celebrates the 209th. Anniversary of the Birth of Charles Dickens

The event, held on Saturday 6th. February 2021, was attended by well over 130 people and greatly enjoyed by all. It was hosted by Ian Dickens, President of the Fellowship and great great grandson of Charles Dickens, who also proposed the toast to the Immortal Memory. Gerald Dickens, another great great grandson of Charles Dickens and Ian's brother, announced the winners of the Reading Competition - Jennifer Emerson, Crispin Ridge, Alan Root and Val Whitehouse. The attendees had an opportunity to view the winning entries. Then Gerald gave a much appreciated reading of his own and the final vote of thanks  from Ian concluded the formal part of the evening. This was followed by a cyber mingle where those present had an opportunity to mingle and chat with fellow Dickensians in small groups. A recording of some of the readings can be found below:
