Dickens event in Worcester 8th February 2025

Script Haven, Worcester, an independent bookshop, opened in August 2023, and the owner, Leena Batchelor, discovered later that the building was once a hotel called The Swan, which Dickens visited whilst delivering his reading of 'A Christmas Carol' in 1858. In fact, he wrote letters to Wilkie Collins from there. As a result of this the shop is the proud bearer of an official blue plaque denoting this.
To celebrate the occasion, they are planning a one-day Dickens Festival on Saturday 8th February (the Saturday closest to his birthday). DF members are welcome. The provisional programme:

4:30pm - short story reading by AJ Stuart (To Be Read at Dusk)
6:30pm - Damon Lord, talk on Dickens : the serial narrative
