A branch of the Dickens Fellowship has formed in Cambridge, organised by Christine Corton and Rick Allen. The inaugural meeting was be held on Monday 10 September 2012 at 7.30pm at Wolfson College. Meetings will be held monthly.
Dr Corton writes: “We are delighted to announce the launch of the Cambridge branch of the Dickens Fellowship, and we hope that you will want to join. Meetings will be held monthly at Wolfson College, Barton Road, CB3 9BB. This is an excellent venue, providing parking on site and the use of powerpoint/audio equipment as well as a pleasant room in which to socialise. We would like to thank the College warmly for offering these facilities free of charge.
The Dickens Fellowship is delighted to announce that the application for a charter received from the branch formed in Cambridge in 2012 was unanimously approved by the Dickens Fellowship Council meeting on Saturday 13 April. Cambridge becomes the 51st branch of the Fellowship and its charter will be presented at the Conference in Boulogne in June. Congratulations are expressed to all the members of the branch and in particular Dr Christine Corton and Rick Allen for all their hard work in getting the branch up and running so quickly.
